Based on one of the scariest films of all time, The Exorcist: Legion VR has released its final 4th and 5th chapter. Fun Train, whose known for publishing film based episodic VR games, and Wolf & Wood, a UK development studio have unleashed this sinister game for PS VR fans.
The Exorcist: Legion VR Finale
The Exorcist: Legion VR started with Chapter 1 “First Rites”, a must-have and required part of the game. Next, fans played Chapter 2 “Idle Hands” and then Chapter 3 “Skin Deep”. Full of possession and demonic forces, horror buffs and fans of the film are taken on a blood-curdling cinematic adventure.
This month, fans will uncover clues, unearth secrets, find exorcism tools and artifacts to exorcize evil demons. If fans are all caught up with the series, Chapter 4 “Samaritan” and Chapter 5 “The Tomb” is a real treat. The VR game’s story is based on William Peter Blatty’s supernatural novel and film adaptation of The Exorcist, so you know it’ll be extra scary.
Douglas Nabors, CEO of Fun Train, excitedly shares that “Fans have been anxiously anticipating the release of these final two episodes and we can’t wait for them to experience the culmination of the chilling story created by Wolf & Wood.”
Nabors urges “VR horror fans [to] start from the beginning and experience the entire adventure as one cohesive narrative”. So that they can experience the disturbing ”nuances and interesting details they may have missed or forgotten.” Closing with an ominous, “Trust me, it’s even scarier the second time around.”
Each of the 5 episodes of The Exorcist: Legion VR is 30-minutes a piece and are going to be some of the scariest VR moments for horror buffs. Players embody the role of a Boston homicide detective that has to examine crime scenes for murders. That’s when the skin-crawling creepiness ensues.
Chapter 4 and 5 Details
VR is so terrifying when we take on the perspective of a character within the horror experience. This is because it triggers our senses. Gamers online have screamed at growling, shadows, and actual demons.
The location of Chapter 4 “Samaritan” begins at “A failed quarantine zone in Haiti has been racked by an unknown plague”. Where “a slew of health worker deaths has led to the collapse of efforts to control the mounting victim toll.” Players venture through to find out what dark forces are behind these suspicious deaths.
Chapter 5 “The Tomb” is the big ending where players are “transported deep into the mountains of Upper Mesopotamia to face the demon Pazuzu”. In a final showdown, players have to use the information they’ve learned throughout the series.
Curiously, “The episode features some unique VR mechanics as well as a powerful and exhilarating climax.” Exorcist fans, are you brave enough to venture into the unknown and follow the blood trail wherever it leads?
