There’s an island full of pigs and someone better do something about it. One of the most beloved gaming franchises is heading its way to Virtual Reality. Angry Birds, a long time personal ID of Rovio Entertainment, will make the VR transition in early 2019. Rovio is (once again) not alone in Angry Birds VR game, their partner in flock come from Resolution Games.

Each advancement in mobile system was celebrated by a corresponding Angry Birds game. The franchise eventually grew so big that it has been the fan favorite for many years. It now takes us to the Isle of Pigs, where the familiar green trouble makers run rampant. Similar to previous iterations, Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs will have players control their favorite fowl and crush the pig threat.

The biggest advantage of VR gaming is that it is, well – VR. Players get fully immersed in what is, for all senses and purposes, a genuine world of the game. The idea is alluded to in the Rovio Entertainment CEO Kati Levoranta’s words: ’We are thrilled that millions of Angry Birds fans will soon be able to literally step into the Angry Birds universe with the powerful sense of presence you get with VR. Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs continues to demonstrate the many unforeseen ways fans can interact with their favorite character and gameplay’. Speaking of VR universes, it is good for VR to visit the Isle. Now that the industry as a whole suffers a few setbacks, it is nice to have one of such magnitude as Angry Birds.

Rovio is really all about Angry Birds. It is by quirky characters and green pigs how the gaming company made the name.  And just as we think that the narrative might get a little old, Rovio pulls a bird out of hat. It is the dexterity with which Rovio spins the same narrative that accounts for its success. Numbers don’t lie, AB games have been downloaded more than four billion times, more than half world’s population. Angry Birds VR game is the next step in birdies’ evolution.

No less enthusiastic about the game was CEO of Resolution Games, Tommy Palm. ‘We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Rovio to bring their beloved franchise to VR. Angry Birds lends itself perfectly to VR, where players can experience the already highly engaging characters and gameplay mechanics in a much more tangible and immersive way than ever’. Among many reasons for captivating the audiences, the AB intuitive controls surely stand out. Smooth, crisp, to the point, Angry Birds VR game is set to follow the predecessors’ trajectory. Rovio’s VR partner is perfectly suited to do this. Creators of highly acclaimed Bait! game, Resolution Games knows a thing or two on making the best in class gaming experience.

They have come long way since 2009. From Classic to the Isle of Pigs, Angry Birds is shaping up pretty well in the gaming universe constellation. Early 2019 is not far off, and the green piggies are in real VR trouble.
